Jungho Jung
Jung Jungho (b. 1981) has been documenting the underlying and structure of cities as they develop and change through photography and video.
Based on the myths and stories behind places, he explores how the sense of place is connected to people's beliefs and how they are expressed and operated in contemporary society. Recently, he has been focusing on visualizing the relationship between the goddess of creation and shamanism in Korean mythology. He aims to reveal the relationship between nature and humans, mythology and human beliefs in a new perspective.

He has held solo exhibitions of Magnolia (BMW Photo Space, Busan, 2022), Budha and Magohalmi (Cheongju Art Studio, Cheongju, 2022), The Great Vortex Between Donghak and Avatamsark (Zaha Museum, Seoul, 2023), Printed World (Buk-Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, 2022), Conservator C’s Day (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Cheongju, 2020), and SeMA New Collection Multi-Access 4913 (Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, 2019), among others.

He was a residency artist at Kunstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral (Bad Ems, Germany, 2023), National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Goyang Residency (Goyang, Korea, 2023), and Seoul Art Space Geumcheon (Seoul, Korea, 2024). He was selected as 'SKOPF Artist of the Year' by KT&G Sangsangmadang (2018) and 'Global Campaigner' by Leica Camera (2020). His photobook 'Tools of the Master' was awarded 'The Most Beautiful Book in Korea 2022' by the Korean Publishers Association. His work is in the collections of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Goeun Museum of Photography, KT&G Sangsangmadang, Seoul Metropolitan Government Museum of Art, JTBC, Australian Center for Contemporary Photography, and many other institutions.
